Azziad Nasenya, a TikTok star, Churchill, and performer Akothee are just a few of the celebrities that have been assigned to positions in government to make sure the voice of creatives is heard.
The Ministry of Youth Affairs, Sports, and the Arts announced the formation of the Talanta Hela Council and two technical committees through a Gazette Notice on February 10, 2023. (Sports and Creatives).
The head of the council will be CS Ababu Namwamba.
Akinyi Odongo, Jimmi Gathu, Catherine Kamau (Kate Actress), Esther Akoth (Akothee), Kizito Makhande, Azziad Nasenya, Rosemary Wahu Kagwi (Wahu), Awadhi Salim Awadhi, Douglas Kipkirui Langat, and Susan Ekasiba are some of the members of the Creatives Committee, which will be
The group will work together for three years and
recommending trustworthy mechanisms for the seamless

and responsible collection of royalties from and distribution of them to all creatives;
putting out frameworks for the National Creatives Economy Plan’s execution;taking charge of the National Creatives Awards (the Kenyan Grammys);
utilizing the internet to find, identify, develop, and showcase talent;
putting in place a solid structure to monetize the creative industry to increase employment possibilities and promote Kenya’s economic expansion;providing guidance on the Masterplan for bringing infrastructure and arts facilities across the nation up to international standards;
creating a plan to position and advertise Kenya as a premier location for filming; and
Make legislative and policy recommendations to support the expansion of the creative economy.
The head of the Sports Technical Committee will be media figure Carol Radull, and members will include Kevin Mutai, Julius Yego, and Boniface Ambani, a former Harambee Stars player.
The team’s objective will be to provide legislative and policy proposals for the development of sports as well as a framework for increasing employment prospects in the same.
