As a way to accommodate needy learners transiting to Junior Secondary schools, most public primary schools in Kajiado County have given a grace period to parents to acquire new uniforms.

For instance, at Noon kopir primary school which is among three public primary schools serving the populous town, a quarter of learners have reported to school without the required new uniform.

The school head mistress Peris Gitari says the grace period is meant to facilitate the needy learners continue with they education and avert cases of learners being stuck at home.

She says besides the 183 learners who did their grade six exams at the school, more parents are looking for JSS opportunities at the school.
