“We are happy that we have finished the first leg without major injuries apart from Silalei Shani who will have to take a break. She will be out for some time most probably till next month or January next year, but the others are all fit,” Maina said.

The soft-spoken Maina has called upon his charges to work extra hard if they want to finish the regular season in a great position.

“We shall now start to work on areas we need to improve on as we want to win all our games in the second round. In fact that is our target, if we can’t get number one in the regular season then we should get position two,” Maina added.

The Bankers have often dominated the regular season, regularly achieving blow-out victories but are finally facing some opposition but Maina says there is no cause for worry.

“Staying number one is not guaranteed because there are going to be some good days and some bad days.”

KPA top the league with 22 points after finishing the first leg with an unbeaten record, while Zetech finished second with 21 points after winning ten of their opening 11 matches.
